Hash Brown Poutine

Twist up traditional poutine using hash browns in place of French fries, topped with fresh gravy and fried chees curds.

  1. In small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  2. Gradually whisk in beef stock. Add parsley, garlic and thyme. Stir and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Reserve gravy.
  4. In large nonstick saute pan over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add hash browns. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cook 7 minutes on each side, or until browned.
  5. Top hash browns with cheese curds. Pour beef gravy over cheese curds and serve immediately.
